How to Achieve Overnight Success in Much Less Time Than Normal…
.…and Live to Tell About it
As the morning sun peeks through the clouds and over the horizon, another day is dawning. It happens every day, and overnight, things change for people. Some become new parents or grandparents, others lose a loved one. Others might win the lottery, others go broke. There’s no end to the stories that become someone’s reality as each day dawns, wherever in the world you happen to be.
Whether you achieve overnight success is doubtful, even though many celebrities and successful entrepreneurs are considered “overnight success stories.” It often takes years and years of hard work before being “discovered” or finally hitting it big.
It’s the same story with entrepreneurial success stories. Every day someone on social media is offering an “overnight” success story about how they created the “magic bullet” to become an internet millionaire. How, until they crafted the “success blueprint” they were broke. Suddenly, their taking trips to Belgium, the Netherlands, or other far-off locales. Overnight success? Doubtful, in fact, it’s an outlandish claim. These guys are merely selling S*** that keeps you buying more.
Time is a Slave to No One
We’re all at the mercy of the clock, one way or another. Regardless of what one does, everything takes time. The truth is that we all get the same twenty-four hours each day. According to Google, 1 year, 12 months, 365 days, 8760 hours, 525,600 minutes, 31,536,000 seconds in the typical year. Obviously, leap year is another calculation.
We all get the same allotment. What we do with time is individual. Some waste it while others thrive. Some use it for leisure, others work diligently.
Some are extremely good at accomplishing tasks. Then there are those that work with reduced productivity, but this article is not about that. There is no single person that utilizes every second of the year in the highest productivity. We all need improvement in that if we have goals and objectives to make a better life for ourselves.
Let’s Talk Business
Going it alone is difficult, often seeming impossible to make any real headway in a small business.
For solopreneurs, it’s challenging if there aren’t enough financial resources to outsource, enlist independent contractors, or hire talent. Having to do everything on one’s own can be frustrating, disappointing, self-defeating.
It takes a high degree of intention and implementation to make it beyond hand-to-mouth living. After all, if one is marketing for more business, the small businesspersons aren’t performing their skill set. When they are performing, they aren’t marketing. It’s a vicious cycle of repetition that can become disheartening.
That’s just one example of how it can take years and years to build the lifestyle so many entrepreneurs desire. Why they sought advanced degrees from universities like law school, medical or dental school, and so on. They had grand dreams of outrageous success only to fall victim to the drudgery of the day-to-day grind living hand to mouth. All they’ve been able to accomplish is create a “job” for themselves.
Shortening the Timeline
There are ways to reduce the timeline to “success,” and that is by:
- Taking on a partner or partners
- Raising equity funds for business expansion
- Taking on debt for growth of operations
- Factoring accounts receivable to self-fund growth
- Creating an Advisory Board for guidance
- Hiring a consultant/business coach
- Collaborate with other small businesses
- Subscribe to industry Newsletters, Magazines, Trade Journals
- Join a trade association
- Joining a Master Mind Group
I’m confident this is not an exhaustive list, but it’s sufficient to get my point across. There are ways to grow that are dependent on money one way or another, but sacrifices must be made to end the cycle of low revenues and minimal profits.
Regardless of the option, they all require an investment in time. Which one or two make the best investment? It’s a personal choice. Collaboration is a great way to share expenses, but there is a higher risk every time you add a partner or co-op organization to share in the risks and rewards.
Meetings, reading, partners all take time, which is probably already short on supply. And, most of these leave one still alone, trying to devise new ways to generate revenues, lower costs, motivate and push one’s self.
Coaching and Masterminds
In my opinion, there is nothing better than having coaches and being part of a mastermind group to gain the best and quickest formulas for growing my business. As an active member of the No BS Inner Circle, I work with people like Dan Kennedy, Bill Glazer, and so many fantastic people that I am continually learning new ways to grow my business.
As a facilitator of masterminds, group coaching groups and one-on-one coaching that I am always learning from my clients as well as what I glean from my coaches.
Master Minds were originated by Napoleon Hill, who witnessed men like Henry Ford, Thomas Edison, Alexander Graham Bell, Theodore Roosevelt, John D. Rockefeller, and Charles M. Schwab.
These men met regularly to discuss common challenges, share ideas, collaborate, and learn from each other, as well as educate each other. All of these industry giants weren’t born wealthy but became so through the mastermind concept.
So, if you want to achieve overnight status quicker than average, hire a coach to guide you in the ways of general business, systems, and especially marketing so you can drive top-line revenues, gain efficiency, and return on investment from all of your marketing efforts.
Stay tuned as I’ll be sharing important information about some new services and products offered to help small businesses get found, get growing, and become an influencer in your niche. Before you know it you’ll be an overnight success!
